1998-99 Flair Showcase
Taking the hobby to the 'net
As the information superhighway exploded in popularity, Fleer/Skybox released this iconic insert.
A nod to this new Internet thing, featuring 15 scoring legends known for screaming their way taking the ball to the net. Kind of like our 56K modems at the time screaming each time we hit the ‘net.
Fleer completely embraced the concept, giving each player a faux email address, using photography of most players aggressively taking it to the net and even including a fan mail message on the back of each card.
These cards are a true late 90’s internet time capsule that’ll bring back memories for anyone who was a basketball fan during the era of dial-up modems, chat rooms and the early days of the World Wide Web.

The hunt
Prized by collectors
Limited to 1,000 serial numbered copies per player, these inserts stay a hot chase for basketball card collectors. You can usually find them for sale at the popular auction sites.
Especially sought after is the #13TN Michael Jordan takeit2.net card, a standout piece in any Michael Jordan cards collection.
Backdoor cards
Missing serials
Also available are cards missing the serial number. These were bought through the Fleer asset liquidation process and have made their way into the secondary market.
Grading card companies do grade the missing serial takeit2.net cards with a matching denotation.
